get a taste of auckland

Isyana (Nana to Indo peeps). 23. Taurean. Auckland, Aotearoa. Second year (starting July 2006) BA at UofA. Dip. Arts holder from UI. Naturally hot-tempered but she manages. Color-coordinated most of the time. Usually knows more than she lets on. Prefers writing to talking. Good books (she doesn't read what you call chicklit and teenlit), photography, graphic design, travels, the internet. Lives in her Giordano jeans and mostly pink-hued Polo tees. Went solo to her high school prom. More?

These random images of Auckland were taken by yours truly and each has appeared in full version on DA. As with the previous layouts, this one was coded and designed by me, best viewed on IE 5.0 or higher and 1024.768 resolution. Stealing is very strictly prohibited. Past layouts?

blast from the past
Hokay, I'm ecstatic, but first thing first: happy big 2-1 to my bro!!! I hope you rethink your decicison to leave Japan, and remember that you can't stay the way you are forever. Keep in mind that you're your own best mate, and you're 21 goddamnit, start planning your life! Other than that, have a great day.
Ok, now. You know what, Jordan Knight and Debbie Gibson have just released a duet called Say Goodbye. Hip hip hooray to us children of the '80s and early '90s! Hahahahaha...Despite the fact that the single's yet to have a video, it's climbed from #35 in the American Adult Contemporary chart in August to #24 as of last October. Not bad, hey? This is a good way to mark their 20th year in the biz...
Oh, does anyone remember Jordy? You know...the 5-year-old French kid who released the single Dur Dur D'etre Bebe (pardon my rusty French) in 1993? Almost a couple years ago I posted a picture of him as a 16-year-old here and I got quite a lot of responses as opposed to the usual nil. Well guess what, the kiddo, now 18 going on 19, is back with a new album titled Je t'apprendrai and this is his first album in 12 years (in 1994 he was banned from the showbiz under the suspicion that he was exploited by his parents). Check out his Myspace...well there's nothing much yet but at least you can see his picture as an 18-year-old.
Well, if this is not a comebacks extravaganza I don't know what is.

mumbling bumbling...
Can anyone recommend a jolly good tagboard site? It looks like has gone to oblivion and isn't good enough...At least for the time being. Their tables don't go well with mine.
My brother's thinking to go back to Indo for good. Either that or he'll go on a leave here and come back to Hentailand in April. It's pity that he decided to leave Japan mostly because he felt lonely, living in a small town where he's possibly the only Indo and having lived with fellow Indos and Malays in his language school dorm beforehand. He's doing well at school, so I hope he opts for the leave, and while he's here I'll help mum drum to his head that when you're on your own abroad you can only depend on yourself. That's something I learned the hard way. But then again, ever since I was a kiddo I've always been a bit a loner...

meh fleh
I've been to malls and goodness, aren't there lots of wannabe Lindsay Lohans! You know, these women wear dresses with leggings (usually black or of other dark colors) underneath, party animal Miss Lohan's trademark style!
EDIT: My mum's been dragging me to people's places in 'look who's back!' visits. While I'm happy to visit relatives they've begun to wear me down. Tomorrow she's taking me to Bandung and by Monday I'll have been here only four days! Fortunately starting Tuesday I'll meet only my mates.
Mum's also been buying me clothes, and she's doing it voluntarily. Hahahaha I really never ask her! She's bought me a green and white Next polkadot dress, black Marks & Spencer trousers, and a damn gorgeous blue U2 cardigan. Today at the mall she offered to buy me anything from Jabotabek Shopping, but I was in no mood for trying clothes on so I said no. Damn I should've said yes...The things at Jabotabek Shopping are mad hella cute.
She's been giving me clothes that used to belong to her, too. Yesterday I wore a short-sleeved black cardigan over a white tank top that she got me from Harajuku, and the cardi is one of the hand-me-downs. My current fave items is this vintage 1986 (or earlier?) black Benetton double breast jacket. In fact, one of my earliest memories of mum is of her wearing the said jacket. But I can't wear it here of course...and not even in Auckland when I get back for it will be summer!

home, day 1
So. I'm home. And man oh man is Jakarta hotter than ever! I can't recall the city being as hot. Being home also brings me back to the life I completely forgot exists. My maid who cooks the same food almost everyday. My mom nagging me to clean my room and saying that my clothes don't look good on me. Security guards anywhere checking cars for bombs. Dad's noisy pet birds. Welcome home to me, indeed.
On the bright side though, I'm seeing my aunt and cousins in probably an hour. And my new niece too!
I'm done enrolling for summer school. So it's Philosophy 105 and English 263. Actually I want to do Philosophy 105 and FTVMS 110 as they're the only summer school papers I'm REALLY interested in, but their schedules clash.

the truth is here after all...
So. There's this guy from uni that I sort of have been checking out. He doesn't know me, but I started lusting over him (on occasion) last year, when he was this cute chubby creature. I found out he's a, uh, queer just now, after he's lost a lot of weight and is cuter than ever. Sigh.
Hokay folksies. Must get back to studying.
