my giant shell...

the forever burning question...
Ok, so I'm at the most ficklest. The most indecisive. I thought I'd save my long-suffering parents' money by spending summer in Auckland, since the ticket money would be my monthly allowance for October and two-week rent. But that's only for now. If I stay for summer my folks will have to send me the usual $2,000 for monthly allowance and four-week rent for December, whereas if I go home I'll most probably spend Rp.7 million during the vacation like last year, which is less than half of the $2,000. Rp.7 million and I went back to Auckie-poo with lots of (real, mind) designer goods (hahahaha don't get me wrong I'm not the 'walking billboard' kind) my antique Samsonite suitcase almost burst.
If I decide to go home (that's like my own version of 'does my bum look big in this'), I'd probably go back to the $1,700-ish deal of Qantas since I've definitely missed out on the Singapore Airlines special offers. Mum only sent $1,529 for the Singapore Airlines ticket that I initially booked and then cancelled, but if I make up my mind to go home I wouldn't mind adding the extra money since I have savings.
In the mean time my beloved, keep praying for me to get that job at Kikki K. Or any job I wouldn't mind doing, really (I'd really love to do retail in fashion, but I'm not cut out for it. But who knows, with a twist of luck...) Speaking of which, I have yet to renew my SJS membership...Will do it this Monday.

a myriad of stuff
Hey everyone.
Yep, I've made up my mind.
Won't be going home. Cancelled the booking.
Happy missing me :P
Ok, so on Monday (or was it Tuesday? My memory's playing lots of tricks on me of late) I followed up at Kikki K. I explained my situation to them and they told me that the manager I e-mailed my CV to had just resigned and they were still in the process of selecting, but would get back to me next Monday. I then informed my travel agent Nina about the whole thing and she agreed to check if there were seats for the November 21-23 flights (the special offer my booking was on applies to flights up to November 23), and if she could move my flight to any of those dates I may postpone my payment (initially I had to pay on Thursday the 13th). But there was no seat available for those dates, so it was to be or not to be (hahahahha), to fly home or not to fly home. It was a tough decision. I cried and cried because I missed (still do) my family, but Jakarta swallowed me whole and spat me out for 22+ years and never would I let the damn city do it again this time. It wasn't until the very last minute that I eventually texted Nina to call off my flight.
I want the job at Kikki so bad I texted everyone to pray on my behalf. I'm 24 and it's about time I had a real job. Plus, this could possibly be the first and last full summer in New Zealand. The previous two summers I flew homeward just as summer began and didn't return until well into the season. And I'll graduate next year if everything goes to plan, and who knows what I will do from there...maybe stay on, maybe Singapore, or (oh no heaven forbid) home.
Off topic, how goes the fasting people? I'm not fasting at present as I'm on the rag.
To the casualties of the Bengkulu earthquake, hang in there love. My heart and thoughts are with you. Man oh man...what did we do to deserve God's wrath so mighty...And why do I have this hunch that Jakarta will be next?

get me pregnant tarkan...
Oh my God this man is soooo beautiful ('handsome' is an understatement) that the director of this video didn't feel the necessity to do more than just extreme (?) close-ups (and a bit of blur) to make the video a good one.
I think facial hair and that hairdo (what do you call it?) suit him the best. Most other looks that he's got his hands on don't.
Well excuse me while I'm drooling buckets...Enjoy the video though!

the much awaited happy entry
Okie dokie everyone! Be joyful because your favorite Chatty Kathy (hahahaha yeah right) is in a jolly mood tonight :) Now I'm gonna keep you guys posted on matters not related to my emotional state (bet my rant in the last entry gave you all an eyesore.) Guess what, I've booked myself a flight home for November 20! Whee! Hahahaha Caleb I'm sorry I'm at it again...
So if things go to plan I'll be waving sayonara to Auckie-poo as I'll embark on a journey home with the great Singapore Airlines (yes I got my ticket on a special offer lovelies...costs me NZ$ 1529). But thing is, I applied for a part-time job at Kikki K, and one of their requirements is availability during Christmas time. I REALLY want to work there as I ADORE stationary and frankly I don't really feel like going home. So yea, I have yet to pay for my flight as I'm still waiting to hear from Kikki K. But I have to make up my mind quick since I have to make the payment on Thursday the 13th at the latest and what if I still haven't heard from the Kikki people by then? Meanwhile, one of the cafes at school (um, are we the uni with the most cafes in NZ?) is looking for a waiter/tress, but I don't feel like working at a cafe. I'd rather work in retail or admin (for this I've asked my boss at Student Support, and I haven't heard from her either). So, what do I do? If you were me what would you do? Hahahahaha.
Hokay. Gotta get back to you-know-what...the fright that is the 3000-word Shakespeare's comedies essay. Yikes.

The picture was taken by yours truly in Northhead, Devonport, on April 21 2007 using a Nikon D70 belonging to The University of Auckland's Photography Society. As usual, the layout was coded by me and other images except the ones for fanlistings, cliques, and quizzes were created by me as well using Adobe Photoshop 7.0. Don't steal.
