get a taste of auckland

Isyana (Nana to Indo peeps). 23. Taurean. Auckland, Aotearoa. Second year (starting July 2006) BA at UofA. Dip. Arts holder from UI. Naturally hot-tempered but she manages. Color-coordinated most of the time. Usually knows more than she lets on. Prefers writing to talking. Good books (she doesn't read what you call chicklit and teenlit), photography, graphic design, travels, the internet. Lives in her Giordano jeans and mostly pink-hued Polo tees. Went solo to her high school prom. More?

These random images of Auckland were taken by yours truly and each has appeared in full version on DA. As with the previous layouts, this one was coded and designed by me, best viewed on IE 5.0 or higher and 1024.768 resolution. Stealing is very strictly prohibited. Past layouts?

raving on the soong sisters
I betrayed my words. I came to the AV library today. Wait, wait...I have an explaination. I ran into Leo in town and he told me that Tim and Tom were away on vacation. Tom's expected to be back in town tomorrow night but he's likely to away from the library for the rest of the break. So there.
And in case you're wondering, Tom and Tim aren't twins. They're not even related.
I saw The Soong Sisters on DVD at the library. You've heard of them, have you not? Hokay, so the eldest Soong sis, Ai Ling, wasn't that famous but her two younger sisters were. Ching Ling was married to Dr. Sun Yat Sen and May Ling was the wife of Chiang Kai Shek. Yes yes...history lessons here we come! Ok back to the movie, there's only one word to describe it: GORGEOUS. Beautiful cinematography, the little girls who play young Soong sisters are cute as, and I cried at the scene where Charlie Soong sings to his three little daughters as they're boarding the ship that will take them to USA. Oh, and the music score's beautiful too. It's the kind of music that's sooo beautiful it sends shivers down your spine. WATCH IT! Or else.
EDIT: I've just found out that the score was composed by Kitaro. Cool.

museum museum museum...
I've just heard from Maureen that I won't be volunteering at the museum until school starts. Wow. That means six days of being bored shitless. What am I gonna do? What am I gonna do? *panic-stricken*
But six days are no hard feat. I went through two two-week midsemester breaks doing nothing but going to the Napiantos' and AV library.
I'll let Maureen decide when I can start working because I feel so strongly about this museum job. I'll most likely start helping with the membership packs but I guess I'll gradually get to help with the old stuff for display. Victorian gowns, bonnets, old magazines and books and photographs...Can't wait to get my hands on them! And I've got plans for the museum as well. I'll keep the plans to myself of course, until the time comes.
Oh, and I'm also looking forward to getting my tiny hands on books of the dead. Yes, creepy ole Isyana loves creepy ole stuff...
