the soap opera that is my life: new episodeListening to: Nothing
My dad is a bigamist. That I discovered during my vacation back home.
And he kept it a secret for 13 years. Now that's clever.
I wasn't surprised. Guys with money always have mistresses. Good guys or bad guys, doesn't matter.
I like it when people say it's me, not my brother, that will wind up with two spouses.
If only they knew how unlucky in love I am.

rip it off guys...keep ripping off...Listening to: Jolin Tsai - Agent J (which I dub The Chinese 'Toxic')
There's a movie ready to hit Indonesian cinemas soon called Radit dan Jani, which is about a young couple getting hitched despite the disapproval of their parents. They have no job nor money and Radit is a drug addict. One day Jani learns that she's pregnant and it makes Radit aim for a better life. They scrape by harder as Radit tries with all his might to stop his drug addiction.
Yes of course, to those who've seen Candy, starring Abby Cornish and Heath Ledger and out in 2006.

this should be in classified ads...Listening to: Nothing
Check this out! That's a picture I snapped at the Starbucks at Mall Taman Anggrek while waiting for my green tea latte (same ol' same ol'). Seriously, the Indonesian tranlation actually means 'beware of your belongings.' Like a chip to record your every move and word is put on your wallet or something. It should be 'keep an eye on your belongings at all times.' Jagalah barang bawaan anda, jangan sampai hilang. Well, maybe not that long. But you get my point.
God what a crap translator they have. Hire me instead. I might not have a first degree graduating from the UI, but I'm bloody good.

the first entry in 2008Listening to: B-Best - Happy Happy 2000 (oh yeah it's been eight years since Y2K...)
And happy new year everyone! I honestly don't have any new year's resolution. Hahahaha.
I'm currently addicted to Flixster's Never-Ending Movie Quiz on Facebook and I've just broken the all-time streak of 13! So the new streak is 18, by yours truly!
Like it's of any importance.
My brother introduced me to a cute guy yesterday. This one seems older than me since he's a math teacher at some expensive private school (Cita Buana if I'm not mistaken). That's just what I need...an older guy. Because, you know, when you start university when you really should be either working or married or both you're bound to be surrounded by younger men. They drive you crazy and you begin to treasure any older guy (even the slighty older ones) you can get your hands on.
A math teacher, you think, he's probably boring. Well I don't know...we didn't talk much. But hey, at least he works out. He and my bro are gym buddies.

now I aint sayin he a golddigger...Listening to: Kanye West feat. Jamie Fox - Golddigger
On why her daughter is single, the mother of a famous local actress/singer once said that any guy would back down if they knew how much money the celebrity had in her bank account.
Or not. Women are not the only ones marrying for money. K-Fed is a posterkid for that.

all random as always...Listening to: Nothing
I sooo want to see this Thai scary flick called The Unseeable. The movie is about a pregnant woman from a remote village staying in a haunted mansion in search for her missing husband. The movie is set in the 1930s and I always have an interest in movies produced in the present but set in the past. So yea I wanna the movie so bad even though I'm a real chicken when it comes to scary flicks. Hahahaha. I don't have the guts to watch even the cheesiest Indonesian horror flick (Suzanna, anyone?).
Anyone remembers the actress Ida Iasha? Well if you don't you must be a kid. Honestly I don't have enough memories of her either since she started her career before I was born and vanished into oblivion in the mid 1990s. I just remember watching one of her movies on the telly as a kid (one where she plays a woman who sleeps around after splitting up with her husband. That infamous red top!) and who can forget her Lux commercial...Hahahaha. You know, the commercial where she rolls around in bed reading what seems to be either a love letter or a movie script, takes a bath, and goes on a date. She was soo beautiful, wasn't she...And guess what she shares my birthday! Yep, she's exactly twenty years my senior. Cate Blanchett, Anjelah Johnson, Quincy Jones, Ida Iasha...Perhaps I should stop making a big deal of celebs who share my birthday, but I can't help it because they're all real celebs whose claim to fame is real talent, not something like being urinated on by a man on video...

like frankie said i did it my way...Listening: Bon Jovi - It's My Life
You know something, the surefire way to make me want to decapitate you is to tell me to follow the path everybody else has followed. Go on. Tell me I have to work at McDonald's during my stint at uni, get acquainted with as many Indonesians as possible until I forget I'm in Auckland not Jakarta, work in a bank after I finish, and marry a guy who wears a crisp suit and silk tie to work ready to be stationed in The Netherlands. Now pray before I slash the sword across your neck.
Won't you let me be? This is my life. God I've been singing the same tune ever since the day I was born. It's my life goshdarnit, it's up to me how to live it. My life, my adventure. I sound like a bloody cigarette commercial but that's the way it is.

|19. 20. 21. 22. 23. 24. Grew up in Indonesia, currently resides in Auckland, New Zealand. UI alumna, a third year at AU doing a BA in English Literature and Films, next stop is either Yale or NUS. Into photography, world music, graphic design, and whatnot.
The picture was taken by yours truly in Northhead, Devonport, on April 21 2007 using a Nikon D70 belonging to The University of Auckland's Photography Society. As usual, the layout was coded by me and other images except the ones for fanlistings, cliques, and quizzes were created by me as well using Adobe Photoshop 7.0. Don't steal.
