my giant shell...

the absolute ass
Tell it to my face damnit.
Ish, you'd better get this haunting past stuff sussed out. The sexual assaults, the bullying, the father that doesn't care, everything. Get help, bitch. Sign up for counselling sessions or something. It's really annoying when you lament about your past, albeit just once in a while. Your smiling and laughing doesn't make up for it. Until then, forget we're friends until you're thoroughly well.
See. Easy eh.
Please god not now. Please. Not when I have a 2000 words long essay due tomorrow and I've barely started. Can I have the mood swing on Wednesday after this wretched thing's handed in, please? Pleeeaaassseee?
People like you don't do ok in my book.

blargh
Vivian moved out on Wednesday to some apartment at Shortland Street. Well that's nearby, but having used to having her in the same apartment her departure makes me a bit mellow. No more breakfast at the Malaysian resto next to the Anzac Road building or the cafe next to the Beach Road one, movies at the theatre room, get-together in each other's room...Sigh. There's always an end to good things.
Alright, time to get back to yet another essay. Bollywood this time. I'm doing this movie on London-based NRI's starring Kajol and (duh, who else?) Shahrukh Khan called...well that's a long title, but I'll shorten it to DDLJ. It's an alright movie, the only one I like out of all the movie options for the essay, but you know what really irks me? All the characters in the movie (well except the parents) are supposed to have been brought up in London but where's the British accent? This flick certainly relies on the star power of Kajol and Shahrukh Khan so much it doesn't seem to matter that they don't really fit the bill. That's what I hate about commercial movies...they look for whatever will attract the potential audience (mostly the working class, the ones perceived to be less educated) that it never occurs to them that the movie might leak into intellectuals (such as, well, us university students!) Ah well. Ranting will never do.
Two weeks left before Eid! Ramadan is halfway through already! Yipeee...

touching base
Hello bitches. Just want to touch base with my life in the past week.
So the interview with Kikki K went a bit...atrocious. It was a group interview. I'd never been to a group interview before, and most of the other candidates have had retail experience (nah no worries I didn't make things up in my CV and application letter. I told 'em I had no experience but I was willing to learn, and they called me for the interview!) and they talked about stuff like up-selling (WHATTTT?) during discussions. There was also a part of the interview where I felt like Lauren Caitlin Upton. Didn't stutter, but I used lots of fillings like, 'Um, you know...' Meh. They said they'd get back to me by 5 PM next Monday if I got the job, but given my poor performance I can only ask you to wish me all the best of luck. You know I'm in dire need for it. Oh God I don't want to have cancelled my flight for nothing... Alright bitches, I must get back to work.

meh...
For no reason whatsoever I miss my violin.
Got the phonecall from Kikki K today and guess what they've scheduled an interview for me!!! Hahahaha yay :) It's gonna be on Tuesday 06:00 PM at their Newmarket store. So mark your calendar people. Tuesday, September 25, 06.00 PM. I need all the luck in the world so make sure you all send a chorus of prayers my way.
In the mean time, back to slaving on an essay. English 321 this time.

a new addition to the list of things i missed out on...
My paternal grandma passed away this morning at 12:50 AM. She went into a coma two days ago and, well, will never wake up. I had no idea she'd been having diabetes for quite some time since I haven't seen her in four years (she lived in Pontianak, West Borneo) and not been in touch with her either.
Mum and dad are currently in Pontianak now taking care of the funeral and whatnot. I'm so gonna miss her. Gonna miss the grandma-granddaughter bonding moments we had when she lived with us for around six months in 2000.

lalalalalala
Events I missed while I've been away since 2006:

  • Five weddings (four of my cousins and one of my secondary school best bud.)

  • One funeral (my grandaunt's).

  • Three births (two of my cousins, one of my niece.)

  • God knows how many family reunions...

  • One secondary school reunion.

  • And I'm sure to miss out more since I've REALLY decided not to head home...But I'll try to get a ticket for that fortnight break between summer school and first semester in February. Just in time for my cousin-in-law to give birth to her firstborn, I guess.
Plus I really miss this granduncle of mine...He's one of my grandma's younger brothers. One look at him and you can tell that he was a dashing guy in his heyday. He's really cool. Speaks excellent English and once worked in the Indonesian consulate in Thailand. Actually we're not really that close, but we're fond of each other :) Anyway, he's ailing at the moment (which is no surprise since he's a 70something) and I kinda have this hunch that he, um, won't last long. Maybe before the next year is out?
Kinda tired of the layout. Expect a new one anytime soon folks.

As usual, the layout was coded by me and other images except the ones for fanlistings, cliques, and quizzes were created by me as well using Adobe Photoshop 7.0. Don't steal.
